Range Qualification For Your License to Carry (LTC)

Course Of Fire Requirements:
  • Handgun semi automatic or revolver .22 caliber or higher. 
  • A total of 50 rounds are fired during the course qualification test.
  • A score of 70%, or 175 points of a possible 250, is required to pass.
  • The target used is a B-27 which is a human-shaped silhouette target measuring 45 inches by 24 inches.
  • All shooting is from the ready position, which means the gun is loaded, in your hands and aimed down range.
  • No holster or concealed shooting is required.
  • A Red or Green dot optic is permitted but no magnification or lasers allowed. 
B-27 Scoring:
  • 5 Points:
    • Shots made in the Inner Rings (8 thru Bullseye)
  • 4 Points:
    • Shots made in the Outer Ring (7)
  • 3 Points:
    • Shots hitting the Silhouette outside of the Outer Ring (7)
  • O Points:
    • Shots hitting the white portion of the target  or missing the target altogether

Course Of Fire

3 yard line – 20 shots:
  • Five (5) shots fired in a “One Shot Exercise” 2 seconds allowed for each shot.
  • Ten shots (10) fired in a “Two Shot Exercise” 3 seconds allowed for each two shot sequence.
  • Five (5) shots fired in 10 seconds
7 yard line – 20 shots:
  • Five (5) shots will be fired in 10 seconds
  • Five (5) shots will be fired in 2 stages:
    • 1.     Two (2) shots will be fired in 4 seconds
    • 2.     Three (3) shots will be fired in 6 seconds
  • Five (5) shots fired in a “One Shot Exercise” 3 seconds allowed for each shot.
  • Five (5) shots fired in 15 seconds.5 shots in 15 seconds, once
15 yard line – 10 shots:
B-27 Scoring:
  • 5 Points:
    • Shots made in the Inner Rings (8 thru Bullseye)
  • 4 Points:
    • Shots made in the Outer Ring (7)
  • 3 Points:
    • Shots hitting the Silhouette outside of the Outer Ring (7)
  • O Points:
    • Shots hitting the white portion of the target  or missing the target altogether
